Principles

The University recognises that the roles and responsibilities of Deans and Directors are considerable and that it may be necessary for them to be assisted by the allocation of certain roles and responsibilities to Deputy, Associate and Sub Deans or Directors. The University recognises that in accepting appointment as Deputy, Associate and Sub Deans or Directors, academic staff will necessarily be diverted from the pursuit of their own academic activities. It is therefore appropriate that such staff receive compensation by way of a salary loading.
