Procedure

Comprehensive documentation of procedures is available from the OHS Unit*.

No research, teaching or operational work with ionizing radiation hazards shall be undertaken until a risk assessment of the work is completed (http://info.anu.edu.au/Policies/_DHR/Procedures/Ionizing_Radiation_Risk_Control_Protocol.asp) and the Director, Dean or Manager of the Area is satisfied that the hazards associated with the work are controlled as far as is reasonably practicable.

All research, teaching and operational work with ionizing radiation hazards shall be undertaken (as a minimum) according to the relevant requirements and guidelines documented in the University's Ionizing Radiation Safety manual.

The current contents of the Ionizing Radiation Safety manual are given below.
