Comprehensive documentation of procedures is available from the OHS Unit*.
No research, teaching or operational work in workshops shall be undertaken until a risk assessment of the work is completed (http://info.anu.edu.au/Policies/Procedures/Human_Resources/ohs/Risk_Management_for_Chemicals.asp) and the Director, Dean or Manager of the Area is satisfied that the hazards associated with the work are controlled as far as is reasonably practicable.
All research, teaching and operational work in workshops shall be undertaken (as a minimum) according to the relevant requirements and guidelines documented in the University's Workshop Safety manual.
The current contents of the Workshop Safety manual are given below.
*The manual is only available to participants of the Workshop Safety training courses. An upgrade service is available from the OHS Unit. Please contact Faye.McNevin to order upgrades.
