Overview
This policy sets out principles designed to support the holistic recognition of exceptional student academic achievements at Honours Degree or Masters Degree level through the award of University Medals and Postgraduate Medals for Academic Excellence.
Scope
This policy applies to:
- Staff - Academic; excludes honorary appointment staff
- Staff - professional
- Students - coursework.
Policy statement
- The award of University Medals and Postgraduate Medals for Academic Excellence at ANU is:
- based upon merit, as demonstrated through a transparent and rigorous process outlined in the Procedure: University Medal and Postgraduate Medal for Academic Excellence; and
- focused on the holistic recognition of exceptional academic achievement in all areas of study provided by ANU, as demonstrated through the consideration of the academic track record of students who attain a first class Honours Degree or equivalent level of performance at postgraduate level.
